Equal Energy (EQU +1.4%) announces the sale of its Halkirk, Alliance, Wainwright and Clair assets and substantially all remaining non-producing Canadian assets for $17.4M. EQU says the asset disposition is the second step in the company's ongoing strategic review process.

    The third step will likely entail the sell of the reminder of the Canadian assets, followed by the conversion of those assets into a dividend trust, or selling them for shares to an MLP or a Canadian SIFT exempt Trust. In either case, there is 50% to 90% upside from current levels once those steps are finalized probably in the next few weeks.

    so...if the sale was such a good deal, why has the stock dropped another 3%? I know, don't think short term. Something is not right here.
