Flash crash in Capstead Mortgage (CMO)? The typically slow-moving mortgage REIT plunges about 7.5% in minutes on no particular news (no, it was not "Einhorned"). The stock has since recovered much of the loss, now -2%.

    How is it costing small investors money? It's a great way to pick up some shares at discount, now up 7% or more from the lows. I'll take a 10% gain and call it a day.

    When Stop loss orders are triggered by the flash drop and a shareholder gets sold out but cannot get back in at a similar price to the price received on the sale, That shareholder experiences a real economic loss.
