Novell (NOVL) is reportedly having trouble finding a buyer for its NetWare and identity management software businesses. There are buyers for its SUSE Linux business, but Novell’s board does not want to sell that unit and be left with “a shell of legacy assets.” NOVL -8.1% premarket.

  • It sounds the usual pull and push before the closing. It is only natural that the managemnt wants to fetch as much as possible from Linux business and that the Netware part is going to be chased by PE at the lowest possible price. But, don't forget, that half of the Market cap ol NOVL is in cash... A happy ending is coming.
