Shares of Netflix (NFLX) retreat 3.8% premarket after SunTrust warns tracking data will show September usage trends weakened. A downgrade from Bank of America on the name to Sell from Buy is also tipping sentiment.

comScore tracks visits to http://www.netflix.com which largely reflects site visits for DVD perusing/queue management. The vast majority of streaming viewing is not via PC's but rather via connected devices that connect via apps.

Ever wonder why comScore's top 10 video viewing tracking contains no Netflix at all (see below) while other estimates suggest that a majority of peak prime-time internet web traffic is being utilized by Netflix subscribers while streaming.

Duh, comScore is measuring different things than how people actually use Netflix on their connected devices (X-Box, Apple TV's, Rokus, PS2, Wii, Smart TV's, and BD players, and oh also iPads, iPhones, and various Android smartphones and tablets -- none of which connect to netflix streaming via the netflix.com website), and thus, are not tracked by comScore. Some of these "analysts" really need to find another day job IMO.
