Spain doesn't necessarily need IMF loan assistance, says Managing Director Lagarde. Of course it doesn't now that the ECB has pledged to buy its debt (once the country submits to its conditions). Lagarde seems to view the IMF's role as continually crying wolf (I, II) about dire financial conditions in the hope of scaring up central bank and government policy action.

    Submit or we cut you off.They know austerity doesn't work and they keep doing it? Sounds like a great business plan to me, doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result.

    Someone on the TV tried to explain the new ESM..or whatever its called....it was like a Marx Bros movie or Abbot and Costello....it made no sense to anyone listening...kind of like a synthetic derivative....a what????
