Market recap: Stocks fell slightly in a volatile session marked by a rising dollar, strong retail chain-store sales and investor jitters ahead of monthly jobs numbers due tomorrow. Consumer staples were weak, as PepsiCo trimmed the top end of its 2010 growth forecast. Two-year Treasury yields fell to a record low, and 10-year yields slipped to 2.39%. NYSE decliners led advancers five to four.
