American Airlines parent company AMR (AAMRQ.PK) asks a bankruptcy court in a court filing for permission to borrow up to $1.5B in order to refinance current debt. The carrier says it will secure the debt with its fleet of aircraft.

    Who in their right mind would lend them any money if they are not paying on their existing debt? The court should force them to make their existing loans current - if they can't make the payment sell all the planes and give us back as much of the money as they can.
