Cereal sellers Nestle (NSLYF.PK) and General Mills (GIS +0.4%) plan to cut sugar and salt content in children's breakfast cereals they sell jointly overseas by as much as 30% in a possible move to head off any backlash from the brewing anti-obesity movement that isn't just limited to Mayor Bloomberg's crusade in the Big Apple. Close to 5.3B portions of cereal could be affected by the switch.
