IBM saw a "falloff" in demand from North America and growth markets in September, CFO Mark Loughridge stated during Big Blue's Q3 earnings call. That might send some chills through the enterprise IT space. IBM also notes some software deals fell through in Q3, it expects to close them in Q4. Software sales were hurt by 10% and 16% Y/Y drops, respectively, for Lotus and Rational. Sales to BRIC markets were up 4% Y/Y, and analytics-related revenue is up 14% YTD. Shares -3.5% AH.
