Coke vs. Pepsi: The execution at Coca-Cola (KO) looks a little crisper this morning after its 2% gain in U.S. beverage volume for Q3 beats PepsiCo's 3% decline by a healthy margin. The company also has some favorable comps to look forward to in future quarters, according to analysts.

I can understand KO's gains in the U.S. if price is any indicator. It's the one item that hasn't paced inflation. You can buy 3-12 packs these days for less than $10.

It's still cheap 10 years ago I was in the wholesale food biz and the full retail price of a 6 pack was $2.50 so the price has gone nowhere . What an amazing machine KO is.

My entire professional career was in Maryland state government. I retired after 30 years service as Deputy Director, Social Service Administration. Prior to that I served in the Navy during WWII , and as First Lt , Infantry during the Korean War.
