Raymond James ups Old Republic International (ORI +0.5%) to Outperform today, saying the mortgage insurer is unlikely to face a demand for prepayment on its convertible debt after the firm attended a hearing about its plan to get back on track. The issue has nagged ORI since its mortgage-insurance unit was placed under "supervision" by the North Carolina insurance department.

My husband started Phoenix Aviation, a div. of ORI and it has always been a great company and will end up getting out of this mess from the mortgage crisis. They are one of the top companies in the USA and has upped its dividend many times.
