Every picture tells a story, but a photo (Twitpic) from a J.C. Penney (JCP +0.5%) store screams one word - sale! It's a word of great importance to JCP investors hoping to see the firm successfully transition itself from a promotions-based department store to a shops-based specialty seller without alienating too many more shoppers. The bigger issue: While J.C. Penney hashes out the future of retail with its shops concept, is it missing the boat with its online business while Nordstrom and Macy's rack up even bigger gains?

too little, too late. Ron is too arrogant to realize he has FAILED MISERABLY as JCP CEO....

He really needs to resign so someone new can try to save the brand:(

I worked at JCP and that sign would do nothing for the customer.
