Sina (SINA) gives its very popular Weibo microblogging platform a major redesign: new features include Facebook-like banner photos and the ability to restrict the sharing of a post to a select group of users (similar to Google+'s Circles). Weibo is closing in on 400M registered accounts (inlcuding duplicates), but monetization is still a work-in-progress.
