Valmont Industries (VMI) Q3 beat handily on a per share basis late yesterday, as net profit jumped 35% Y/Y on continued expansion of the electrical grid in North America. The company makes poles and towers for wireless communication and utilities, as well as irrigation systems for farms, and earnings have soared in recent quarters due to the increased investment in the nation's electrical infrastructure, as well as a big jump in farm incomes. CEO Mogens C. Bay says that trend is likely to continue.
