ArcelorMittal (MT) says it plans to permanently close the liquid phase at its plant in Florange in eastern France, citing weakening demand for its product with European demand for steel still ~25% below 2007 levels. MT intends to focus on the high-quality finishing operations, which are mostly used in the automotive industry.
