More on Lockheed Martin (LMT) Q3: net profit +3.8% to $727M. Raises 2012 guidance: forecasts EPS of $8.20-$8.40 vs. $7.90-$8.10 prior and consensus of $8.10; net sales of $45.5B-$46.5B vs $45B-$46B and $45.68B. Warns that 2013 revenues will ease slightly,  but business segment operating profit to remain above 11%. Assumes sequestration will be averted.

    Indeed it is. But, the President promised at that last debate that there wouldn't be any sequestration so, I think we can take that to the bank...he's so transparent. HA!

    Once again

     

    The only companies to really blow out earnings this quarter are Facebook which had severely low expectations and LMT which relies almost exclusively on government contracts for business. Something wrong with that picture?

    The whole sequestration scheme was a smokescreen to get congress off the hook of doing any cost cutting that would generate even more layoffs. What really needs cut back our entitlements. The interest on the national debt now exceed the entire defense budget, that's how overspent we are with the massive entitlement costs. The federal government is going to be cut and streamlined to reduce the deficit and borrowing.
