Market recap: Stocks rallied from the open and stayed sharply higher, as Ireland edged closer to a bailout, the Philly Fed report showed surprising manufacturing strength, and GM made a triumphant return to the public market. A weak dollar sparked a broad based rally in commodities, and Treasury prices pared losses. NYSE advancers led decliners three to one.

    If selling off -2.5% from the opening price can be considered a "triumphant return." Looks more like GM is continuing its pre-bankruptcy downtrend.

    Idiotic; the market gapped higher then spent the day sideways...please get your facts straight, since you're actually employed to do so....
