Chinese electronics manufacturer Foxconn (FXCNY.PK), a key producer of iPhones (AAPL) and iPads, faces worker protests over pay and relocation plans. The company has promised to improve working conditions and raised wages.

    Good morning Vietnam.


    If China keeps this up, pretty soon they will have their very own Jimmy Hoffa. And if they continue, who knows? Maybe the tanks will start to roll in the street. And if that happens, we could have interesting times(yes, it would indeed be ironic if their own proverb was applied to them for once).


    Could China become the new Japan? It happened after the 80's to what we thought was impossible. Could it happen in China too?


    Their demographics are better than Japan's but still there are some major challenges.

    I'm still not quite sure the Chinese government truly appreciates what a powder keg they have at their feet. Foxconn did raise wages previously but there's something wrong with a company that feels it necessary to install safety nets around their buildings to deter suicide at their plants.
