Though some traders like to trumpet Home Depot (HD -0.7%) and Lowe's (LOW -1.2%) as good buys in front of a slow-moving hurricane (NHC track map) heading toward large metropolitan areas, the trading record of the pair in the past doesn't quite support the thesis. What looks more interesting: According to the National Association of Home Builders, home remodeling climbed to 50 in Q3, up 11% Q/Q, to hit its highest level since 2005.
