The Baltic nations on the coast between Russia and the sea are trying to wean themselves off their reliance on gas from Gazprom. Chevron has taken a stake in a Lithuanian firm, while the Estonian government is split over whether to allow part of a key Russia-Europe gas pipe to run through its territory. So Russia is looking to gas-hungry China, with more supply talks scheduled.
