Toyota's (TM) troubles in China go much further than the recent wave of anti-Japan sentiment stirred up by a fight over a group of rocky islands. The automaker brought models to the nation priced out of the range of most consumers and crammed with too many features to appeal to no-frills Chinese buyers. The numbers speak volumes: Toyota averages 1,250 sales of its Yaris model a month compared to Nissan and GM with sales of over 10K a month for slimmed-down offerings in the same category.
