At the November 29th close of trading BCE common shares were priced to yield about a 5.25% annual dividend. Which begs the question: Why buy 5-year medium term notes priced to yield annual interest at 3.6%?

BCE has an excellent record of increasing earnings and dividends annually and the dividend on its common shares is well covered by earnings.
