The 12 casinos in Atlantic City, shut down for only the 4th time in 34 years, are reported to have only suffered minor damage from Hurricane Sandy as it made landfall 30 miles to the south. A bigger problem for bringing traffic back into the gaming centers will be the impact of the floodwaters in downtown Atlantic City with many buildings still retaining water in basements and first floors.
