A Lower Manhattan data center used by Internap (INAP) to offer data services has been crippled after flooding from Hurricane Sandy took out diesel pumps needed to refuel backup generators. Meanwhile, Equinix (EQIX) and others are dealing with service disruptions at 111 8th Avenue, a giant data center/telecom facility owned by Google (GOOG).

    The TELX data center NYC2 (111 8th Ave. NY) is operating on generator power - we have had any service interruptions to clients at this location. R Sterbenz, Corp Communications Officer for TELX.
