John Chen, the CEO of SAP's Sybase unit, is resigning tomorrow. Sybase, acquired for $5.8B in 2010, is (along with Hana) central to SAP's plans to become a database giant that can go toe-to-toe Oracle and IBM, and also to its goal of becoming a mobile enterprise app leader - SAP hopes to generate $285M in 2012 mobile software sales, and co-CEO Bill McDermott expects the business to maintain triple-digit annual growth for "the forseeable future."
