American Capital Agency (AGNC) gains 2.2% following Monday's earnings release and buyback announcement. Maybe of most interest was a decline in the CPR - not squaring with either the mortgage refinance boom or other mREIT reports. Weeks ago, CEO Kain told all who would listen he wasn't worried about prepayments since much of the company's holdings are backed by less-likely to be refinanced lower loan balance mortgages.

AGNC is simply the best of the REIT stocks to own. Management thinks outside the box and prepares for most any circumstance well in advance. I am long AGNC and was recently put more @ 36.00. I am not the slightest bit worried that this stock will not recover. In the case of a Republican win Tuesday, which may put an eventual stop to competition for MBS with the Fed, we will see a serious boost to the share price of all REIT's, and AGNC in particular. Further, we have a baby boom of retirees looking for income to supplement their meager Soc sec benefits and dwindling pensions. Where else are they going to put their money and get a decent return? The market is not "smart" but it's not stupid either. This single glaring fact will catch the attention of institutionals if not retail investors soon.

There will not be a Republican win Tuesday.

$36 is going to be a tough nut to crack. I think BV's have pretty much peaked out based on QE3. Good Luck

Sold puts for 1.37 so only have to hit 34.63 for break even. Plus I will receive the quarterly divs. Happy camper here.

Stay the course with AGNC. I am long AGNC and happy. I agree with most of your comments above.

The odds are OBAMA will win. I am not voting for either. I am not into all the political nonsense. I believe AGNC will be just fine no matter who wins.

Damn, was hoping to establish a position in AGNC after I sold most of my NLY. Was not expecting AGNC to pop so soon. Will wait for another pullback. Now share price is above NAV.
