After shuttering its own Nexus One store a few months ago, Google (GOOG) will sell a new Android Nexus S smartphone through retail channels. The device is co-developed with Samsung (SSNLF.PK) and runs the new Gingerbread OS, which will support the crucial mobile payment capability. As of October, Android owned 23.5% of U.S. subscribers aged 13 and up, a rise from 17% last July.
