Amazon's (AMZN +1.2%) $175M investment in online marketing site LivingSocial will let the company add headcount and expand its footprint to overtake rival Groupon. Amazon may or may not buy out LivingSocial someday, but it certainly is ready to counter Google's (GOOG +2.1%) next move into the social market space.
