Suncor Energy (SU) +2.3% premarket as it says 2012 capital spending will be $850M lower than previously planned, expecting to spend $6.65B this year vs. $7.5B predicted earlier. Suncor owes the lower spending to its new Firebag Stage 4 oilsands project, which came in 10% under budget, as well as slowing the pace of developments it jointly owns with Total (TOT).
