Power outages have rendered 65%-75% of gas stations in New Jersey inoperable, and experts say the gasoline shortage in the NYC area may not be cleared up for at least a week. The problem is not gasoline supplies, but the ability to distribute it; for example, Motiva, the Shell-Saudi Aramco JV, declared force majeure on fuel deliveries at four area terminals after sustaining weather damage and power problems.

the fact of the matter is there are very few fueling stations outside of New Jersey turnpike that can handle say...commercial vehicles...period. Why this is rather interesting thought...but either way the demand on this resource will be astronomical if the MTA can't get Subway service up an running. How does the Taxi driver get fuel for his taxi? Anywho there is no private resource that can handle moving 6 million people a day. My understanding is Connecticut is up and running. Should we be surprised? No. Really stunning that the authorities had no idea what to do should lower Manhattan get flooded. Obviously the (bad) reputation of Con Ed has ALWAYS preceded itself...and it has lived down to this reputation after hundreds of billions having been spent since 9/11 (on big, tall, worthless buildings of course.)

Our "advanced" civilization and materialist culture is far more vulnerable to great acts of nature, terrorism and war than earlier, more durable and resilient civilizations that did not claim to have mastered nature, ended history and dispensed with Providence.

Having decided to worship things and our egos we find that both are false gods.
