Heavily-shorted Acme Packet (APKT +4.2%) rallies after announcing its session border controllers are now certified to work with Verizon's IP trunking services, as well as Microsoft's Lync Server unified communications platform. Acme has been hit hard this year by the impact of Verizon and AT&T's restrained wireline capex. (PR)

    It should help some. But some other firms will probably benefit more, since it's aimed at improving last-mile broadband access.
