MetLife (MET) nears a deal to buy Constitution Center (1.4M sq. ft.) for $750M in what would be the highest price ever paid for a D.C. office building. The price is somewhat below the $900M some brokers had expected the property to fetch. A savvy player, Met unloaded Stuyvesant Town - Peter Cooper Village at the market top in 2006.
