Greece's efforts at reform are showing some success, with the country's budget deficit in January-October dropping 42% to €12.3B as revenues edged up 1.4%. "We are a step closer to achieving the national target: a primary surplus in 2013," Deputy Finance Minister Christos Staikouras said yesterday. To help things along, Greece is making new efforts to avoid tax evasion, which costs the country around €28B ($36B) a year.
