Mellanox (NASDAQ:MLNX) unveiled a big product refresh today. The most noteworthy release is arguably MetroX, an InfiniBand switch line that can support links spanning over10km. InfiniBand switches are typically used to connect hardware in close proximity; MetroX could open up applications where a company needs a high-performance link to span multiple sites. Also introduced: new high-end InfiniBand switches (could go into Oracle's hardware) and networking management software.
