Heard on Home Depot's (HD) earnings call: 1) Sees same impact from Hurricane Sandy as the company felt from Hurricane Irene with timing of the impact uncertain. 2) On the housing market, execs note credit availability in housing sector is still a major issue but sees a general trend of improvement. 3) Sales gains were broad across categories, although sales in housing materials were a laggard due in part to a tough comparable from last year in lumber. 4) Appliance sales and higher lumber costs helped drive the firm's average ticket price higher. 5) Credit card expenses significantly lower this year with private-label cards contributing positively. HD +2.1% premarket. (webcast)
