Wal-Mart (WMT) knocks out a penny beat in Q3, but it's not "clean" according to Hedgeye's Brain McGough with revenue coming in light. Despite the sluggish nature of the report, execs maintain a positive tone about Q4 on a pre-recorded earnings call. They note the company expects to realize a +$300M gain from extra layaway sales this year and see a larger portion of Halloween sales get pulled forward compared to last year. WMT -3.0% premarket.
