P-E firm Sun Capital has set its sights on Hostess Brands, according to reports. The plan would involve reopening factories and keeping well-known brands such as Twinkies, Ding Dongs, and Wonder Bread under the Hostess banner. Co-CEO Marc Leder doesn't buy into the notion the bankrupt firm's products are off-trend, noting consumers is still strong.

Twinkies are our there with donuts in terms of nutritional value, which is negative )).
But donut industry seems to be doing OK. So, it does have to do more with marketing more than anything else in my view.

Imperative to keep the low nutritional, high fructose corn sugar, hydrogenated protein content foods available in order to support the business models of all the companies catering to weight-loss and diabetes treatment.

I bet they have .I read Hostess employees were making $19hr. Those employees will never see $19 an hr again doing what they were doing at Hostess. Brand will be bought by some billionaire jobs shipped to China or somewhere; that's the name of the game. Foxconn Apples(and others) primary vendor in China employs 1.2 million Chinese at $300 a month a pop. May as well put a wax statue of a stateside Hostess employee in the museum of natural history.

Flowers Foods will end up with a part of the Hostess Brands, they know how to bake bread and make money doing it, just remember when they bought Keebler which had not made a penny in years and then in 6 months they were profitable and then after showing someone how to make and bake crackers they sold it and went back to baking Natures Own which put Hostess in bankruptcy this time when Flowers sued them or trademark infringements with the Nature's Pride they tried to copy after Nature's Own. If the government wants to keep the jobs in the USA let Flowers show them how it is done "The Flowers Way" is their management believe generation after generation and it works. I know I did it every day for 20 yrs until an unfortunate accident but I would gladly go back to work tomorrow if ask as an account ex because with a broken back I can't lift those trays any more but I enjoyed everyday I worked there and they treated me with respect and honesty even to this day.
