Alcatel-Lucent (ALU +4.1%) is adding to Friday's 10% gain, which followed a report the struggling telecom equipment vendor is in talks with Goldman about a loan. Shares are still only at $1.15, down 53% from the end of February.

    As a prior employee of ALU, I know this company has much going for it in an admittedly difficult industry. At 55% percent of just book value, this stock is a great buy, and yes, a have shares in this stock

    otoh, a debt-burdened non-performing company gets a small stock price boost by advertising that it's looking to go even deeper in debt. well, maybe the share price will rise to a point where its worth bailing . . .
