The fallback continues for DreamWorks (DWA) after Rise of the Guardians fails to meet expectations at the box office against stiff competition. Janney Montgomery Scott analyst Tony Wible calls the opening weekend one of the "most disappointing" in the firm's history, while Caris downgrades the company to a Below Average rating. The biggest complaint on the film is that the Avengers formula of cramming a bunch of well-known characters (Santa Claus, Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny, et. al.) into a buddy movie failed this time around.
