BNY Mellon (BK) talks costs at the Goldman investor conference (presentation), pledging 2012 savings at $240M-$260M, steadily rising to $650M-$700M by 2015. Not sugarcoating it, the firm says the present macro environment is not a good one, with interest rates and their volatility being squashed by central banks. Foreign-exchange volatility is also disappearing.
