While PC sales falter, IDC's tablet forecasts keep rising: the firm now expects 122.3M tablet shipments in 2012, up from 117.1M in September, 107.4M in June, and 106.1M in March. The iPad (AAPL) is expected to account for 53.8% (65.8M) of those shipments, down from a prior 60%, Android (GOOG) tablets 42.7% (52.2M), and Windows (MSFT) tablets just 2.9% (3.5M). IDC now expects 282.7M shipments in 2016 (261.4M prior), but as the 2012 forecast changes show, that's pretty hard for anyone to guess. (Barclays)
