Ahead of the "day of rage" demonstrations in Saudi Arabia, Barclays' Amrita Sen reminds that terrorism, not protests, remains the largest threat against oil supplies. Surprisingly quick talk of tapping the SPR tells Sen the U.S. is concerned about further deterioration in the situation.

    If we plan on tapping the SPR, we may also want to begin re-issuing permits for deep-water drilling of new wells in the Gulf of Mexico. Let the companies go back to work.
