Crude oil is solidly lower this morning even though hostilities continue to grow in Libya, and tankers seeking to load crude are turned away from ports. It's possible that markets are sensing a growing momentum towards a NATO-led no-fly zone. April crude -1.0% at $103.43

Hopefully the current US administration has understood the lessons from history. It is just not what the population wants to sacrifice humans to fuel the capitalist interests. It is almost irrelevant whether the humans sacrificed are US nationals or others.

Let Libya and comparable countries learn on their own without Western ( economically driven) intervention and learn their society's core values, like Europe and the US did in the last century.

Western values simply cannot be imposed on other cultures, but it will soak up blood if we try. And try we have not because our democracy is better than theirs, but because our capitalist interests support what is good for our financial interests.

Rabid dogs are loose in the park and you institute a "no-sidewalk zone" patroling the perimeter to make sure the dogs don't bite anyone.

Worse than that, the no-sidewalk zone is enforced by the Hemophiliac Society.

Do you recall the no-fly zone to keep the Saladin of Baghdad from gassing too many people?

It's a sign of weakness. Men who know what they're doing have to put down rabid dogs if people are to enjoy the park.
