A major selloff is underway across nearly all asset classes: equities (S&P) -1.8%, WTI crude -2%, gold -1.2%, silver -3.2%. VIX +9.4%. Economically sensitive stocks are leading the market lower: GM -3%, CAT -2.9%, GE -1.5%. Investors are snapping up dollars and Treasurys in a bid for safety, and dollar strength is hitting commodities.

    I find the drop in oil today interesting considering Saudi Arabia's own 'day of rage' scheduled for tomorrow. Perhaps, oil will rally back up later in the day due to the uncertainty this has to create.

    Attempting to make sense of anything is innate. It doesn't mean I have total confidence in my ponderings, hence the use of the word, 'perhaps'. Another view could be oil is overbought near term. That always works till it doesn't. LOL
