The franchisee of McDonald's (MCD) in India plans to merge with its publicly-listed parent in the nation in a move that will allow investors to jump in. So far, McDonald's only has 148 restaurants across west and south India, but the pace of expansion has picked up.

    148 is more than (MCD) had in South America before its spinoff.

    Very interesting in a country in which a huge part of the population considers the cow (beef) sacred. I assume the menu is quite different, from USA.

    Probably they offer more chicken and pork. Chains change menu to adapt to culture. Same in China.
