Buying opportunity? Curiously red as the mREIT sector heads higher today is Ellington Financial (EFC -0.5%), which reported book value of $24.02 on Friday evening vs. $24.50 in October. As one trader points out, don't forget the $0.70 dividend and November's management fee. Adjusting for these, the portfolio value rose nicely.

Albionwood I think I share your stock picking skills. I had EFC a while back but collected the dividend and then sold the stock at a small profit. It was making me nervous. Seems like there are safer stocks to make money with.
