Saying there "won't be any mercy." Gaddafi tells Benghazi residents, "we are coming tonight." Providing a bit of perverse comedy during tragedies occurring in Libya and elsewhere, he tells the people to thank God Libya isn't as bad as Japan.

Do not worry about Japan and do not compare. Just worry about your country.

JST where is our foreign policy on this? Waiting for a civilian massacre? Oh yeh, I forget, March Madness overrides this silliness.

Western air and sea action might have been very effective 2 weeks ago: now it will merely goad the Libyan tyrants and ( who have nowhere to go) and their mercenary, non-Arab, killers into mass murder and almost guarantee attacks on civilians outside Libya.

There still tens of thousands of unskilled foreign workers trapped in Libya who will certainly be at risk as hostages, human shields etc. This is why Egypt refuses to intervene.

Even if the Libyan airforce and navy, whatever little there is, cease to function because of air strikes, how will this save ordinary Libyans from tanks, artillery, missiles, domestic terror and punitive actions such as systematic deprivation of food, water, energy and medical supplies?

Even with the current nuclear fallout. I doubt I can find 10 live Japanese that would trade places with 10 Libyans.

Here is a live Webcast of the UN Security Council Meeting at which the vote authorizing a Libyan no-fly-zone will be taken.
