Apple (AAPL) might have trouble in securing certain components made in Japan as a result of the earthquake, including those used in the iPad 2, says analyst firm iSuppli. Other affected multinationals include GM (GM), which will halt production at a U.S. plant next week, Volkswagen (VLKAY.PK) and Sony Ericsson.

    Interesting that Government Motors, that had to be rescued to save American jobs, will shut down a plant because they cannot get parts from an overseas supplier. How much hypocrisy can we stand?

    Every car maker has foreign sourced parts. Not a single one is 100% U.S. content, and GM, along with Ford and Chrysler, have twice the domestic content of the import brands.
