Google (GOOG +1.7%) roundup: 1) The FTC is reportedly close to a settlement with Google over its use of standards-essential patents in IP suits, but remains at odds over the bigger issue of whether it's abusing its search dominance to promote other services. 2) Google has begun offering Samsung's $249 Chromebook for $99 to schools, a move that could give Chrome OS a needed market share lift. 3) As part of its efforts to pare back Motorola's international ops, Google is selling Motorola's Chinese and Brazilian plants to Flextronics (FLEX).

Does anyone know anything about a lawsuit from Vringo? I thought Google was found guilty of infringement. What, if any, are the effects on Goog from this lawsuit?

How can I get my hands on a SS Chrome book for $99 ?

I like it at $249, but love it at $99

And I'm an Apple fan, big time.

(there comes a time when you can't argue with give away prices, huh ?)
