Checks indicate competitive fears for Broadcom's (BRCM) combo chip business are overblown, says William Blair, which is reiterating an Overweight on the chipmaker. Broadcom, which counts Apple, Samsung, and many others as buyers of its Wi-Fi/Bluetooth combo chips, recently saw Texas Instruments announce plans to exit the combo chip market. But concerns have existed about tougher competition from Marvell, MediaTek, and Qualcomm's Atheros unit. (NFC combo chip)

BRCM is going after NXPI. I owned Atheros some time ago. QCOM is having a tough time at that 65. level. QCOM is a great stock to own, but will be waiting for a pull back in BRCM, HBAN or KFN.
